If by any chance you are a fellow YouTuber, watcher or content creator, visiting Belgrade, Serbia in the month of June. Make sure to make time and visit Balkan Tube Fest. The biggest festival devoted to YouTube culture in Europe. But hold on, what is Balkan Tube Fest, what’s it about, when does it air?
Wheel buckle up, and get ready for one of the best articles you have read in your life! Or not, i am not sure if you read web articles. And since this is my first, i would like to hear some feedback
All jokes aside, Balkan Tube Fest, or shorter BTF, is a festival devoted to YouTube culture here in the Balkan. Mostly gathering the Ex-Yugoslavia countries. It was started two years ago by a few major channels here, some of them being PC Axe, Yasserstain, Cile ST and the list goes on.
A Insiders View Of The Exciting Balkan Tube Fest!
It was a common thing for fellow YouTubers here in the Balkans to have meet ups with their fans in the parks and other areas. One time, the number of visitors was around 2000! Ut was very difficult to make sure that everyone had a great time, took alot of pictures and that their safety was not in danger.
So, a few YouTubers sat down, got on Skype and talked. And boy o boy did they talk. They were trying to do something that no one has ever done before, and out of all that, BTF emerged.
To say that the first BTF was a success, would be an understatement. Not only did everything go amazing, but the fans that came to the fest had a unbelievable time. The show and all the following activities made the first BTF a great experience. Around 6000 people where in the Sava Centar on the October the 24th.
Some of the big names were Mudja, PcAxe, Cile ST, Kovalska, Yaserstain, Adnan Bro, Jana Dacovic, SerbianGamesBL, Marija Zezelj and many more.
After the big success, people where eager for the second one and the big surprise was that BTF2 will be two days instead of one. Boy were the fans happy. It was again the month of October that hosted this amazing event. Which was roughly double in size, double in days, double in fun, double in excitement. Also doubles the attendees.
Balken Tube Fest Breaks Records
One of my amazing friends Bojan Zlatarevic, the face behind the Gledaj Ovo channel was invited to the second one. He had the opportunity to meet his fans, have fun with other YouTubers, and boy o boy did he have stories for me. To simply put it, it is a experience he will never forget. I have to admit, i was so jealous i was holding back from slapping him a few times.
If you were not that lucky to visit BTF1 or BTF2, you were forced to wait a few months for the greatest thing BTF had to offer, THE OFFICIAL BALKAN TUBE FEST MOVIE (i screamed this in a deep voice and scared the crap out of my sister).
What is better than seeing your favourite YouTuber in a video? Think 2 of your favourite YouTubers in a video. Then multiply it by 50, add FRIENDSHIP and you get the BTF1 movie. It was a big hit, reaching more than 900k views as of now.
To sum it up, it was the first Balkan YouTube movie directed by Milan Inic. One of the Yasserstain members, and it was a difficult project to make. But in the end, it ended up to be a great 26minute video.
The second one was even better, being directed once again by Milan Inic. Getting even more YouTubers and showing same as the first one that we are all friends. I won’t tell you what the plot of either movie is so i wouldn’t ruin it for you.
A great place to meet your favourite YouTubers
To tell the truth. Considering how old is the YouTube scene here, and how escalating the growth is. I wouldn’t be surprised if the BTF3 tops the previous two, put together.
This year, the BTF will be a little early, on the 24th and 25th of June, why that early, i am not sure. It has to do with the Sava Centar getting renovated, but i won’t get into the details.
The tickets are not still on salel, but you can get them fairly cheaply, and the cost of them can’t compare to the fun and excitement you get when you visit a place like this. The smiles on kids faces, YouTubers being themselves. Playing with fans like they are all 10 year olds again, and then giving amazing speeches and acts on stages.
But why would you trust me? I am just some 20 yo writing on his laptop what he found on the internet, and retelling stories he overheard.
Just come and see it for yourself, i promise you won’t regret it.
