Two questions many people ask me are, “How To Start A Successful Vlog Channel On YouTube?” And, “How do I gain exposure?”. I wish the answer was a simple “Just jump in with both feet and believe in yourself,” but that would be untrue.
I personally have been blessed with the rare chance to start my YouTube family with a seasoned bigger YouTuber supporting my channel. Lance Stewart is a personal friend of mine and an has been an absolutely amazing mentor through this whole process of creating a channel and a brand.
What I have learned so far in this process is that if you are not consistent with the three C’s. Your channel will most likely go unnoticed until you have a ton of content.
By the three C’s I am talking about “Catch, Content and Consistency”.
Catch
To draw viewers to your channel you need a catchy title and thumbnail that has something to do with your video. Abuse of this is called “clickbait” which is tricking people to watch your video even though it had nothing to do with the title and thumbnail. I don’t have an issue with “clickbait”. It is your channel after all, so do what you feel will help your channel reach your audience.
Content
The second of the C’s is content. No matter what type of catch you use to draw attention to your channel, if you don’t have content your audience will soon leave. Your content can be made up of anything you like to do like makeup tutorials, vlogs, pranks, car videos or whatever your passion for creating drives you to make.
Viewers love watching creators who are passionate about their content so be yourself and have fun with it.
Consistency
The third and final one of the three C’s is consistency. By consistency I mean when you upload your content to YouTube try to make a schedule and stick to it.
If you upload everyday at 9 am keep to that pace. Also If you upload once a week make it a permanent day like Monday or Friday at a certain time. If you do this and also consistently post your link to your content on other social media platforms. It will significantly increase your chances of being noticed.
I wish you all the greatest success with your channel and welcome to the YouTube family of creators.
